6. Safe check inventory.
If goods are going into storage, they are inventoried as they are loaded. You receive a copy of the inventory for your checking and signature. That way, you’ll have a ready checklist when the time comes for re-delivery. When the goods are unloaded into store, they are checked off the inventory by the storeman as they are going into the storage bay. When it comes time to re-deliver, the inventory is again checked off as goods are re-loaded to ensure every item goes to your new home.
7. Short term storage.
We also cater for short term storage - if you can’t settle for a few days or a few weeks, our container storage is the best option for you. This is a unique service that will save double handling your goods – everything stays as it left your home – locked away until you need it again. Talk to our estimator about this option for short term removals.
Short term move and part storing goods.
What if you’re moving for a short term and then moving again? When packing, label the items you won’t need for that time “Long Term Storage”. If it is a carton, number the carton, then write on the tape what the contents are. Record this in your removal notebook. On removal day, it will be easy to distinguish the boxes you are storing and those you want to take with you. It is also helpful if you distinguish the boxes with 2 different coloured stickers eg blue for goods you are taking with you and yellow for goods you want stored.

Flammables – not in the truck or the store please!
No flammables or aerosols can be carried in the truck and especially not stored either in our bulk warehouse or in a container. Anything with the red “flammable” diamond on it cannot be carried in a removal van. Particularly remember this when storing goods - absolutely NO flammables (including paints and aerosols) can be stored.
And while we’re on storage....
Food – not only people like it
If you are going into store, never store food as it encourages vermin. Also Ratsak actually attracts rats – so do not pack it or put it in as a preventative measure – it will actually have the opposite effect. Better to give the food away or take it with you.
