Be careful not to under insure
If you do under insure, and you have a partial claim, the amount you receive from the insurance company will be adjusted according to your degree of under insurance.
   
For example, if you have $50,000 worth of contents and you elect to take out a policy for only $20,000 worth – in case of a $5,000 claim, you will only receive $2,000.
